El cambio climático no es ya una cuestión teórica y las próximas generaciones de ciudadanos Europeos tendrán que hacer frente a sus consecuencias. Los jóvenes necesitan ser fuertes para luchar contra el cambio climático y para ello tienen que llegar a ser conscientes de él.

El proyecto El Cambio Climático: La Solución eres tú" une a ocho colegios de diferentes países Europeos desde España hasta Turkía y desde Lituania hasta Italia, con el obetivo de :

Fortalecer la cooperación entre ellos para afrontar el hecho del cambio climático.
Ponerse en marcha, manos a la obra.
Trabajar con toda la comunidad educativa y escolar desde alumnos a profesores, a padres y autoridades locales.
A la vez el proyecto intenta ayudar a alumnos y profesores a buscar respuestas a preguntas básicas tales como :
¿Qué es el cambio climático y cual es su impacto ?
¿ Hay algún tratado en prácica? y lo más importante,
¿Qué se puede coseguir desde la comunidad educativa?

Los profesores quienes tenemos el gran privilegio de trabajar con los jóvenes tenemos una gran oportunidad: Hacer frente a estas cuestiones vitales.

Los jóvenes actuales serán la generación más afectada y a la vez serán los que decidan ganar la batalla contra el cambio climático.

Como en cursos anteriores, el pasado 9 de mayo, celebramos el Día de Europa, conmemorando la intención de construir una Europa basada en la Paz.

Comenzamos el día con la oración de la mañana que el grupo de Pastoral preparó para este día. A lo largo de la mañana, todos los grupos realizaron distintas actividades:

Los alumnos de E. Primaria trabajaron el poster divertido con el que conocieron características de los veintisiete países que forman la Unión Europea, se estudió la bandera europea, diseñada por Arsène Heitz , inspirada en la Medalla Milagrosa con las doce estrellas de la Virgen. Se realizaron juegos como “La araña divertida”, “Qué colorida está esta vaca”, Comecocos con preguntas sobre Europa, etc.

Los alumnos de ESO elaboraron diferentes pósters de Europa y de los veintisiete países, para decorar los pasillos del centro.

En todas las puertas de las aulas se colocaron las doce estrellas de la bandera.

A las 12.30 todos los alumnos y profesores salimos al patio donde se leyó un extracto de la mitología griega de Europa y distintos manifiestos.

Se interpretó el himno de Europa, la Oda de la Alegría de Beethoven, por los alumnos de 5º y 6º de EP con las flautas y posteriormente lo hicieron algunos alumnos de ESO con distintos instrumentos de viento, mientras que los demás cantamos el himno.

El Día de san Patricio se celebra a nivel mundial y tiene por temática todo lo que es verde e irlandés. Se celebra la fiesta vistiéndose de verde, disfrutando de la gastronomía irlandesa la cual incluye col y bebidas irlandesas, y asistiendo a desfiles.

San Patricio nació en Escocia en el año 387 y a la edad de 22 años tuvo una visión de un ángel que le guió predicar la palabra de Dios a los paganos. Fundó numerosos monasterios e iglesias y sigue siendo un ejemplo de fe para los irlandeses, quienes también le atribuyen milagros.

Se dice que San Patricio subió a una montaña y con un báculo de madera hizo desaparecer todas las serpientes. Sin embargo, históricamente se sabe que nunca hubo serpientes en Irlanda y que el acto de San Patricio es simbólico de la desaparición del paganismo y la conversión al cristianismo.

Los Leprechaun son unos antiguos seres mitológicos que habitan en la isla de Irlanda. Se dedican a fabricar o arreglar zapatos, y se dice que son muy ricos, ya que guardan muchas vasijas de barro llenas de tesoros.

Según la leyenda, si alguien logra fijar la mirada sobre un leprechaun, éste no puede escapar y le tiene que dar sus tesoros, pero en el momento en que se retira la mirada desaparece.

From 26th to 29th january, our school has participated in the preparatory meeting held in Aalter (Belgium) for the Comenius Project "ARE WE GREEN ENOUGH?" that will be developed along 2011, 2012 and 2013. The main points of this project will be linked to Environment (specially energy), Key Competences european framework, and the use of English as 'Lingua Franca'. The countries that will participate in this new project, up to this moment, are: Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, Romania and Spain. Further information about it will be given in the future. During the visit to Aalter, we worked at Emaus Bovenbow OP WEG; there we found out about lots of interesting new projects about poetry, students guidance, ICT, Religion Rooms etc that are being carried out at this dinamic Flemish Secondary School. Brussels, Brugges, Gent, Liegge, Lovaine... were some of the cities that were visited while we were not at work. At Liege we could admire the Train station designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and the exhibition on Climate Change: S.O.S. PLANET EARTH. Gent offered us an incredible show of lights as we could see the GENT LIGHT NIGHT Show. Here you can find some of the pictures related to the visit.

SOMOS EUROPA, UN SOLO CORAZÓN

Los más pequeños del centro también han querido celebrar que forman parte de Europa. Tras una dura mañana de recortar, pegar y pintar, por fin han conseguido terminar todos sus "complementos europeos" con los que han salido al patio a festejar el Día de Europa.

El lema de este año ha sido: "Somos Europa, un solo corazón". Los más pequeñines, de 3 años, han pintando banderines con la bandera europea.

En las aulas de 4 años se han confeccionado diademas con las estrellas de la UE.

Los alumnos de 5 años, han pintado estrellas que luego han colocado en círculo para formar la bandera de Europa.

Además han escrito el lema con letras de colores que luego han colocado en la pared del patio.

The ideas of solidarity, union and armony between countries in Europe are symbolised by twelve Stara in a circle. The number of Stara has nothing in common with the number of countries in the EU. There are twelve Stara because number twelve means perfection and union.

El día del libro es una celebración por los libros y la lectura, y la historia de por qué fue elegido este día es desconcertante e interesante; es el aniversario de la muerte de tres de los más influyentes autores de todos los tiempos, William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes e Inca Garcilaso de la Vega; todos ellos fallecieron el 23 de abril de 1616 (a pesar de que existen algunas diferencias de opinión sobre las fechas por los calendarios judíos y gregorianos de aquella época).

Book Day is a celebration of books and reading, and the story about why this day was chosen is puzzling yet interesting: it is the anniversary of the death of three of the most influential authors of all times, William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega; they all died on 23 April 1616 (although there are some differences on the date because of the use of the Julian and Gregorian calendars at that time).

Por este motivo, la UNESCO eligió esta fecha para celebrar y pagar tributo a los libros. Uno de los objetivos de la UNESCO es animar a todo el mundo, especialmente a la gente joven, a descubrir el gran placer que da la lectura.

La primera vez que se celebró el dia de la Tierra fue el 22 de abril del año 1970. El senador americano Gaylord Nelson tuvo una iniciativa para organizar, junto a universidades, colegios de E. Primaria y el resto de la comunidad, manifestaciones pacíficas para pedir una reforma a favor del medio ambiente.

Earth day was first celebrated on 22 April 1970, after american senador Gaylord Nelson’s initiative to organise, together with universities, primary schools and the community, paceful demonstrations to aks for an environmental reform.

Estados Unidos no pudo ignorar la presión que iba en aumento, y creó la Agencia para la Protección del Medio Ambiente, y a su vez, las leyes necesarias. Desde aquel día , el día Internacional de la Tierra se celebra por todo el mundo y es visto como un triunfo nuestro ya que no es regulado por ningún gobierno.

The United States could not ignore the growing pressure and created the Environmental Protection Agency as well as several laws to Project the environment. From that day, Earth Day is celebrated all over the World and is seen as people’s victory, not regulated by any government.

Eyjafjalla descontamina nuestros cielos

El volcán islandés Eyjafjalla, tras su segunda erupción el día 14 de Abril, lanzó a la atmósfera pequeñas partículas de vidrio, rocas pulverizadas y silicato, que alcanzaron varios kilómetros de longitud.

On 14 April 2010, Eyjafjallajökull resumed erupting after a brief pause, plunged into the atmosphere small particles of glass powder and silicate rocks, reaching several kilometres in length.

Con ayuda de los vientos anticiclónicos, esta masa de polvo volcánico se ha extendido por una área de miles de kilómetros, dificultando el tráfico aéreo de gran parte de Europa. Entre ellos nuestros compañeros que no han podido desplazarse hasta el encuentro que estos días se realiza en Turquía.

With the help of cyclonic winds, the plume steam has spread it over an area of thousands of miles and airspace across much of Europe remainded deserted. Therefore, our partners were unable to travel to Turkey where a meeting is taking place during these days.

Cabe pensar que todos estos materiales contaminarán más nuestro planeta, y que como ha ocurrido en otras situaciones similares, la climatología se pueda ver afectada. Pero "hasta el momento, la escala no es lo suficientemente grande para tener un efecto mundial", afirma Hans Olav Hygen, un investigador del clima del Instituto Metereológico Noruego.

Nevertheless, Hans Olav Hygen, a climate researcher at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, said “so far the scale is not big enough to have a global effect”.

En este momento se podría decir que nuestros cielos "se toman un respiro", ya que las 15.000 tonbeladas diarias de CO2 que el volcán arroja a la atmosfera, son menos de la mitad de las que produce el tráfico áereo, un total de 344.109 toneladas diárias.

Durante los días del 20 al 24 de abril se celebra en Yozgat, Turquía, el segundo encuentro de los participantes en el Proyecto Comenius "Climate change: The solution is you".

Cuatro representantes de nuestro centro, dos profesores y dos alumnos, viajarán hasta la localidad para encontrase con los participantes de los diferentes países. Durante estos días, no sólo pondrán en común las experiencias acontecidas desde el último encuentro en nuestro centro, sino que además realizaran acuerdos para el futuro del proyecto, así como la elección del logo que lo representará.

Yozgat es una pequeña ciudad localizada en la Región de Anatolia Central, cubriendo una superficie de 14.037 Km2 y una altitud de 1300m sobre el nivel del mar. Tiene un clima continental, lo que supone que los meses de Julio y Agosto son los más calurosos del año.

Yozgat is a small city in the Central Anatolia Region, covering an area of 14,037 km2, at an altitude of 1300m above sea-level. It has a continental climate. July and August are the hottest months.

La mezquita de Çapanoğlu fue construída en el año 1779 por Mustafa Çapanoğlu, ampliada en 1795 y restaurada en 1900.

Cerca de Yozgat, se encuentra el parque nacional de "Camlik". Son unas pequeñas islas de bosques que adornan la tierra con un bello escenario. Se encuentra a 5 km. al sur de la ciudad.

Near Yozgat, "Camlik" is an islet of forests. This site is a national park, 5 kilometers south of the city, and it adorns the land with its beautiful scenery.

Desgraciadamente, en la actualidad, existen miles de niños que no pueden ir al colegio, estudiar o jugar.

Unfortunately, there are many children who can not go to school, study or play.

Algunos de estos pequeños de todas partes del mundo, son obligados a luchar por grupos armados desde su más temprana infancia. Según los datos de Amnistía Internacional unos 300.000 niños de todo el planeta, son sometidos a verdaderas torturas en su infancia para someterlos y así obligarlos a combatir. En algunos casos incluso recurren a las drogas y el alcohol para hacerlos menos miedosos en el combate. Estos son los llamados niños soldados. Son pequeños de todas las partes del mundo, aunque donde más casos existen es en África.

Some of these children have to fight for armed groups since early childhood. According to Amnesty International, over 300.000 worldwide children are subjected to hard torture during their childhood, and even they are forced to take drugs so that they are not afraid of fighting. They are called child soldiers. They come from all over the world although most children come from Africa.

No se debe olvidar tampoco a los aproximadamente 246 millones de niños y niñas trabajadores, según datos de UNICEF, que cada día van a trabajar en situaciones de riesgo que ponen en peligro sus jóvenes vidas.

Moreover, according to UNESCO, 246 millions of children are forced to work under high-risk conditions.

El 20 de noviembre de 1952, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas se reunió con la sola idea de reafirmar los derechos universales del niño, y para que se celebrara en cada país del mundo, que se consagraría a la fraternidad y a la comprensión entre los niños del mundo entero y se destinaría a actividades que desarrollaran el bienestar de los niños del mundo.

En España se instauró el 15 de Abril como día para conmemorar la lucha por los derechos de los niños.

On 20 November 1952, the General Assembly of the United Nations met in order to outline the children’s rights and to call on the international community to advocate the fraternity and understanding between children all over the world.

Reducir la mortalidad infantil, mejorar la salud materna, y combatir el VIH/SIDA, el paludismo y otras enfermedades son algunos de los Objetivos de Desarrollo de la ONU para el Milenio que todos los Estados Miembros de la ONU se han comprometido a cumplir para el año 2015.

Some of the UN’s aims, which all the Members of the United Nations have commited to achieve by 2015, are to reduce child mortality, to improve maternal health, to fight HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.

El Día Mundial de la Salud 2010 se centrará en la urbanización y la salud. Durante la semana del 7 al 11 de abril de 2010 se organizarán eventos en todo el mundo.

World Health Day 2010 will focus on urbanization and health. Different events will be organized worldwide during the week of 7-11 April 2010.

Los objetivos mundiales de la campaña son:

Mil ciudades: abrir los espacios públicos a la salud, ya sea para realizar actividades en los parques, reuniones ciudadanas, campañas de limpieza, o cerrar parte de las calles al tránsito de vehículos motorizados.

The global goals of the campaign are:

1000 cities: to open up public spaces to health, whether it be activities in parks, town hall meetings, clean-up campaigns, or closing off portions of streets to motorized vehicles.

1000 lives: to collect 1000 stories of urban health champions who have taken action and had a significant impact on health in their cities.

Aunque la pobreza suele asociarse a los países en desarrollo, en los que escasean los recursos tales como el agua o los alimentos, en nuestro continente también existe. A pesar de que Europa es una de las regiones más ricas del mundo, un 17% de sus habitantes carecen de los recursos necesarios para cubrir sus necesidades básicas.

Although poverty uses to be associated to developing countries, in which water or food are insufficient resources, it does exist in our continent too. In spite of the fact that Europe is one of the richest regions in the World, a 17% of its population do not have the neccessary resources for covering their essential needs.

No existe ninguna fórmula mágica para acabar con la pobreza, sólo la unión de todos, la solidaridad y ayuda a los demás puede hacer frente a este problema y al sufrimiento de millones de personas que lo padecen cada día.

It does not exist any magic way to finish poverty off, only being together, sharing and feeling solidarity with others we can face up to the situation that millions of people suffer everyday.

La XV Conferencia Internacional sobre el Cambio Climático en esta ocasión tiene lugar en Copenhague, Dinamarca desde el 7 al 18 de diciembre de 2009. Esta conferencia es organizada por la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático (CMNUCC), que organiza conferencias anuales desde 1995. El objetivo es preparar los objetivos que remplazarán a los acordados en el Protocolo de Kioto, que termina en 2012.
En esta conferencia se reunen los mejores expertos en medio ambiente, los ministros o jefes de estado y organizaciones no gubernamentales de los países miembros de la CMNUCC.
El objetivo final es la reducción mundial de las emisiones de CO2 en al menos un 50% en 2050 respecto a 1990, para ello, los países deben marcarse unos objetivos intermedios.

La tradición de tomar las 12 uvas se remonta a principios del siglo XX. La implantación de esta costumbre, que por cierto, es exclusiva de nuestro país, no se debe a motivos religiosos o culturales, sino más bien a intereses económicos. En la nochevieja de 1909 los cosechadores de uva tuvieron una gran producción de esta fruta y para deshacerse de tanta uva inventaron el rito de tomar las uvas de la suerte en la última noche del año.

The tradition of having 12 lucky grapes on New year's Eve comes from the beginning of the 20th century . This Spanish custom doesn't have religious o or cultural origins, It was due to economic interests. On 1919 New Year's Eve the harvest of the grapes had gone behond the limits and so the producers decided to get rid of such amount of grapes making up the rite of having the graoes on the last evening of the year as a sign of good luck.

Parece ser que la costumbre del árbol de Navidad nació en Alemania, en la primera mitad del siglo VIII. It seems that the origin of the Christmas Tree began in Germany almost on the first half of the 8th century when St Boniface, who converted the German people to Christianity, was said to have come across a group of pagans worshipping an oak tree. In anger, St Boniface is said to have cut down the oak tree and to his amazement a young fir tree sprung up from the roots of the oak tree. St Boniface took this as a sign of the Christian faith. But it was not until the 16th century that fir trees were brought indoors at Christmas time. The tradition came in Spain around the first quarter of the XXth century.

A nosotros no nos asustan los fantasmas, brujas, monstruos o vampiros. Por eso, durante el día 29 de Octubre nuestro colegio se convirtió en un lugar terroríficamente divertido, en el que grandes y pequeños, alumnos y maestros, disfrutamos de las bromas, decoraciones y "dulces" de Halloween.

We are not scared of ghosts, witches, monsters or vampires. So, on 29th of October our school became a terrific funny place. Teachers and students enjoyed telling jokes and making halloween decorations.

A medida que pasaba la semana, las aulas y pasillos se fueron llenando con adornos para este día. Todos los alumnos participaron en elaborar la decoración del centro en la medida de sus posibilidades:

During the week, classrooms and corridors became spooky places. The whole decoration was made by students from different levels.
Los alumnos de Educación Infantil pintaron y recortaron dibujos de los personajes propios de Halloween para hacer murales y guirnaldas.
Infants painted and cut pictures of different halloween characters in order to decorate the school with posters and paper garlants.

Los alumnos de Educación Primaria también decoraron pasillos y puertas, incluso realizarón manualidades que luego se llevaron a casa para seguir divirtiéndose.
Primary Education students decorated corridors and doors, as well. They even made some handicrafts to take home and keep on having fun.

Los alumnos de ESO realizarón carteles que luego colocaron en los pasillos del centro.

Secondary Education students designed posters placed all over school.

A lo largo de la mañana se fueron realizando diferentes actividades en las aulas para celebrar este día.

During the day we made many activities with studdents to celebrate such a funny festival.

Los más pequeños vinieron disfrazados de casa, dispuestos a asustar a todo el mundo y pasarón un mañana de "miedo", disfrutando de una fiesta de Halloween.
The youngest diguised as witches,ghosts, vampires,skeletons... ready to scare everybody around them. They enjoyed a lot in a wonderful Halloween Party.

Los alumnos de Primaria se divirtierón con juegos, entre ellos, "My friend, the mummy", en el que tenían que envolver a uno de sus compañeros para convertirlo en momia antes que el resto de los equipos...

Primary students had fun with some different games such as " My friend ,the mummy" .In teams they tried to be the first ones in wrapping a friend with a roll of paper.

Durante la hora de inglés, los alumnos de ESO realizarón divertidas arañas de lana...

During the English lesson the students from Secondary Education enjoyed telling frightening stories and making funny woollen spiders.

Incluso varias profesoras se animaron a elaborar unas telarañas con las que decoraron diferentes rincones del centro...
Moreover, there were other techers who made spiderwebs to decorate different places of the school...

En definitiva, todos pasamos un día muy divertido en el que pudimos acercarnos a las costumbres de otros lugares sin olvidarnos de cuales son las tradiciones típicas de estas fechas en España.

La primera movilidad del Proyecto Comenius de formación continua tuvo lugar en Tomelloso desde el 19 al 22 de Octubre. En este proyecto profesores y estudiantes de Turquía, Hungría, Polonia, Bélgica, Italia, Lituania, Grecia y España realizaron diferentes actividades que tenían que ver con temas locales y regionales sobre Medio Ambiente en Tomelloso y en Castilla La Mancha. Se trataron dos temas principales: el agua y la energía renovable. Se realizaron talleres y charlas relacionadas con el medio ambiente y otros temas involucrados en el proyecto. En este primer encuentro todos los compañeros trajeron presentaciones sobre sus países y sus escuelas. Y entre todos, se preparó un plan para el primer año de asociación, con las funciones y tareas para los colegios de cada país.

LUNES 19 DE OCTUBRE

Durante la mañana, los participantes fueron llegando a Tomelloso. Por la tarde, se realizó una ceremonia de recepción en la que padres, personal del centro y autoridades locales les dieron la bienvenida, todos muy concienciados por el cambio climático y su impacto en nuestras vidas.

Cada centro hizo una presentación de sus escuelas, vida, tradiciones y costumbres. Ambos, tanto profesores como alumnos, participaron activamente en las actividades.

Antes del descanso se tuvo la oportunidad de ver una exposición y taller sobre "La Mancha húmeda". Esta conferencia corrió a cargo de tres biólogos del gobierno regional que mostraron la importancia de la flora, fauna medio ambiental y los problemas y futuro de los humedales en Castilla - La Mancha.

Después de comer hubo una sesión de trabajo sobre el principal objetivo del proyecto. El coordinador asegurará la implicación activa y equilibrada de todos los centros.
Durante esta reunión, todos los participantes prepararon un plan detallado aludiendo a los roles y tareas de cada uno. La distribución de tareas entre las escuelas cooperantes fueron hechas de acuerdo a las características de cada una, involucrando a alumnos y profesores.
1. Cada compañero establecerá un grupo de alumnos que se centrará en un área referida al cambio climático.
2. En el siguiente encuentro, en Turquía, se presentarán los trabajos y actuaciones de los alumnos, que se recogerán en varios medios, así como CDs, DVDs, folletos, etc.
Algunos temas son:
- El agua
- El aire
- Medio ambiente y salud
- Fuentes de energía renovables
- Reducir, reusar y reciclar
- Especies amenazadas por el cambio climático
- Agujeros de ozono y radiación cósmica

- Proteger y conservar los bosques mundiales
3. También en Turquía, cada escuela presentará tres logos para el proyecto, el mejor será elegido como imagen representativa de la asociación.
Por la tarde, se realizó una visita turística por Tomelloso en la que se incluyeron los principales puntos de interés de la ciudad.

- La Cooperativa Virgen de las Viñas

MIERCOLES 21 DE OCTUBRE
La jornada comenzó con una exposición sobre el agua, que se llevó a cabo en nuestra escuela hace unos años, sobre la diversidad de rios titulada "Claro como el agua cristalina" que impartió nuestro profesor de matemáticas Javier Martín. Al finalizar la sesión, hizo una demostración de como es posible generar sonidos con una copa de cristal llena con diferentes cantidades de agua, así que, con un numero determinado de copas, se puede construir un instrumento musical de agua.

Después, se hizo una salida para visitar las Lagunas de Ruidera. Las Lagunas de Ruidera se sitúan a lo largo del río Pinilla Guadiana se disponen como peldaños cada una de las lagunas vierte en la siguiente , conectadas entre sí por barreras de formación tobácea, estas grutas están formadas por barreras naturales de rocas porosas debido a las filtraciones producidas a lo largo de miles de años. Se visitó la exposición permanente sobre el "Ruidera, Paisaje de agua" y finalmente, se hizo un recorrido de 13 km a lo largo de las lagunas.

Por la tarde se visitó la estación de energía solar de Tomelloso, esta granja solar está generando compuestos que usan tecnología solar fotovoltáica. Esto es posible gracias a la colaboración de tres compañías locales. Situada en un terreno rural cerca de Tomelloso, consigue generar una potencia suficiente para abastecer a 45 viviendas. Antes de visitar las instalaciones, se realizó una presentación sobre su funcionamiento.

Por la noche hubo una sesión de trabajo en la que finalmente se establecieron los objetivos de trabajo para este año y los puntos principales para trabajar en Turquía. Se aprobó una plataforma en internet para profesores y estudiantes, donde todos los trabajos deben ser publicados.

JUEVES 22 DE OCTUBRE
Se hizo una visita a Toledo, ciudad conocida como "mosaico de culturas y civilizaciones". A la llegada a la ciudad, una representación de las autoridades regionales dieron la bienvenida al grupo y charlaron sobre la gran oportunidad que este Comenius da no solo para practicar idiomas, sino también para conocer otras culturas y personas de toda Europa.

Como es normal, más tarde por la noche, hubo una cena conjunta. Fue una noche inolvidable en la que se desgustaron los platos y comidas tradicionales y se bailaron danzas griegas tradicionales.

VIERNES 23 DE OCTUBRE
De madrugada comenzó el viaje a el aeropuerto de Madrid con destino a los lugares de origen, incluso los representantes de algunos países afortunados tuvieron tiempo para pasar un soleado día en Madrid y sus alrrededores.

Próxima movilidad: destino Tomelloso

Durante la próxima semana nuestro centro acogerá a los visitantes de los países que participan en el nuevo Proyecto Comenius
"Climate change: The answer is you".

Un total de 21 personas se desplazarán la próxima semana hasta nuestra localidad para participar en las jornadas de encuentro de las diferentes delegaciones. 14 profesores y 7 alumnos de Grecia, Bélgica, Turquía, Polonia, Hungría, Lituania e Italia estarán una semana en Tomelloso visitando nuestro centro y conociendo algo más de nuestro pueblo y nuestra región.

Con este encuentro se pone en marcha el nuevo Comenius que gira en torno al cambio climático. Actividades sobre la ecología y el cuidado del planeta serán las que se realicen durante los dos años que durará el proyecto, con el objetivo de concienciar a los alumnos de que es responsabilidad de todos cuidar la naturaleza y del entrono que nos rodea.

Durante su estancia, realizarán diferentes actos oficiales, ponencias, actividades y visitas, de acuerdo al siguiente calendario.

Some students of 3rd ESO went to Braga (Portugal), last 27th April. We stayed there for five days. We enjoyed a lot. I’m going to talk about some interesting things we did in this journey.
We leaved Tomelloso on Monday morning, at 7:00. We went to Braga by bus. We arrived to Braga at 8:00.

On Tuesday morning, we went to the school in Braga. We made some groups in different classes. We had lunch at school. The food was delicious. After that, we visited some interesting places of Braga by bus.

On Wednesday evening, we played games without frontiers. The games were fantastic, but we had to return to the hostel before finish, because it started to rain.

On Thursday, we took a train to Oporto. We visited “Palacio da Bolsa”. It was very beautiful. After that, we went on a ship along the river Duero.

The cruise was fantastic and very interesting too. When we returned to Braga, we had a roman dinner at a famous museum, called “D. Diogo Sousa”. The food wasn’t very good but I enjoyed a lot because we had to get dressed like real romans. It was really funny. I think it was my favourite day in Portugal.

Comenius project: Mobility to Portugal by Alberto Palacios

On Monday, we left Tomelloso by bus at 7 am. We stopped at some restaurants and we arrived at Braga’s hostel at 9 pm. We had a hamburger for dinner at McDonals and we went back to the hostel.

Next day, we got up at 8 am and we had breakfast. We went to the school, we had an Art lessons and we had lunch at 2 pm. We went on a tour around the city and we visited the Bom Jesus’ Sanctuary. After that, we went to a shopping centre and we had dinner. We came to the hostel.

On Wednesday, we had breakfast at 9 am and we were all around Braga the whole morning. At 2 pm we meet the other schools from Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Wales and Denmark go training for the Games Without Frontiers. About 7 pm we had dinner at a restaurant in Braga. At 9 pm the games started. it rained and the Games finished at 11:00 pm then all together went for an ice cream at McDonals. Then, we came to the hostel.

On Thursday, we got up at 7 am and we had breakfast. We went to Braga’s train station and we travelled to Oporto by train. We visited the Stock Exchange’s Palace and we had lunch by the river side. Then we went on a trip by the Douro river, we went sightseeing Oporto and then we came back to Braga. Finally, We had a roman dinner and we said goodbye to everybody: Welsh, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish and Danish students and teachers .

On Friday, we had breakfast and we said goodbye to Braga. We left Braga by bus and we had lunch at a restaurant on the way back to Tomelloso at 10 pm.

Jornadas de innovación y creatividad en Toledo

On Monday 4th May We went to Toledo .It was an activity of the Comenius project . There was a meeting of some schools all over Spain. We saw an exhibition of some Comenius projects all of them with different subjects. We discovered who was Comenius, he was a theologian, a philosopher and a pedagogue who was born in what today is the Czech Republic, in the year of 1592.

Also we found out that Comenius was not only a visit to a country l but also there were another type of activities related to the music, the theatre, the gastronomy and the science. Later we went to a t guided visit through the historic town of Toledo in which the most of the streets were built with stones and some of them were really narrow, one in concrete was measuring 86 cm, the guide also told us some anecdotes of that city as for example why the door of the Cambrones was calling this way. During this visit the guide showed us the different types of art that in that city they were giving themselves. Also we visit Gustavo Adolfo Becker’s house and that of Lope de Vega and the cathedral of Toledo among other things.

MONDAY 28TH JANUARY 2008

We start our trip. The pilot of the airplane surprised me because he was wrong with the direction, well he went to Milan instead of going to Bologna. The italian people were great, they helped us a lot. They welcomed us very well.

TUESDAY 29TH JANUARY 2008

We chose the best mask in the contest of the school. The authorities (major, police chief, director of public library) welcome dus. In the afternoon, we had a lesson of italian theatre (Venetian actors showed us the masks of 'La comedia dell'arte'). In the evening we all had dinner in a restaurant in Montagnana.

WEDNESDAY 30TH JANUARY 2008

We had a guided visit to Montagnana, At the school of Montagnana, we made marble paper. In the afternoon we went to Megliadino San Fidenzo and we had a lesson of Italian language and we saw an exhibition of poeple flying flags. It was very impressive.

THURSDAY 31ST JANUARY 2008

We all went to Venetia. We saw the naval museum and the arsenale. We walked around Venetia and we had lunch in a restaurant. Then, we visited the cathedral, Piazza di San Marcos, canals, etc... and at six O'clock we returned to Saletto. Venetia was very beautiful and very impressive.

We returned home. Our trip has finished.

Report on mobility to Copenhagen (Denmark)

In the morning of May 5, we left Madrid and we arrived to Copenhaguen around half past one. At two o’clock we arrived to the hostel and had lunch in an Italian restaurant. At seven o’clock in the afternoon, the Italian people arrived to Copenhaguen and we met them. They were Ricardo and Frederica (the teachers) and Helena, Frederica, Enrico and Ricardo (the students). At half past seven we had dinner with the Italians in a Greek restaurant. We came back to the hostel two hours later to go to sleep. I was sharing a room with the Italian boys (Enrico and Ricardo), and the teachers were sharing another room.

The next day, at half past nine, every people from the participant countries at Comenius met next to a small fountain in front of the hostel. We travel across the Denmark’s canals and saw the Danish houses. After that, all teachers and students mixed in two different groups and parted. Mª Isabel and Veronica were in one group and Saida and me were in the other one. We visited the old sailor’s houses, the Round tower, the little mermaid and other monuments. Later, we met with the other group again. In the late afternoon, I visited the centre of he city with my teachers.

On Wednesday I woke up at seven o’clock and the teachers woke up one hour later. At nine o’clock, every people went to a lake next to the school and we got in canoes. I went in a Canoe with Saida and a Turkish teacher, Verónica got in a canoe with Carlos (a Portuguese student), while Mª Isabel was speaking with Teresa (a Portuguese teacher). All of us had lunch in a forest next to the lake. In the afternoon we went to the Tivoli with the Italian people. The Italian students and me enjoyed the attractions, and the teachers just visited the attractions park. We arrived to the hostel late.

On Thursday we went to the Danish school, we took a train first and then a bus. We had an English lesson and, later, we visited the school. Some teachers visited the school too, while other teachers went to a forest where there were some children’s groups doing some activities.

We had Danish food for lunch, made by the Danish students. In the afternoon, Carlos and me spoke with some Danish girls to learn some Danish words and we taught them a bit of Portuguese and Spanish. Later, we made typical food from our countries and we had a food’s tasting. We also saw some presentations in power point from different countries. And, then we came back to the hostel.

On Friday, all of us were going back to our countries. So that, we went for shopping and at six o’clock we were at the airport. At nine o’clock we took a flight to come back to Madrid again.

Dear friends from "Travelling Europe" Project,

We are suffering a delay in sending certain bits of information because we are being audited by a company specialised in data protection, and we have to get authorization from the students' parents for everything, included the participation in sending and receiving e-mails and presents from our partners in the project. I am very sorry for being such a nuisance. We don want to make any trouble or to delay in the project, but the spanish law enforces us to do this. Anyway, tomorrow we will have the authorizations signed by the parents and we will be sending lists to Turkey and Italy by noon.

On the other hand our students are quite excited preparing the cards, presents and they are really looking forward for the penpal activity. Some of them are even studying the letters which are included in the text book to prepare theirs :-D !!!

Comenius Multilateral - Meeting Point

Several schools from Tomelloso, Argamasilla and Socuellamos have met today at Tomelloso. These schools share their participation in several Comenius projects. This is going to become a meeting point to share views, materials, experiencies etc related to all these projects. New ideas have been rised, and some points of discussion have been introduced (documentation, travels, etc) Next meeting will take place in January 2008.

1. Don’t give out personal information about yourself, your family situation, your school, your telephone number, or your address.

2. If you become aware of the sharing, use, or viewing of child pornography online, immediately report this to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at [Each country has one of these offices and its number should be stated here]

3. When in chatrooms remember that not everyone may be who they say they are. For example a person who says "she" is a 14-year-old girl from New York may really be a 42-year-old man from California.1

4. If someone harasses you online, says anything inappropriate, or does anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, contact your Internet service provider.

5. Know that there are rules many Internet Service Providers (ISP) have about online behavior. If you disobey an ISP's rules, your ISP may penalize you by disabling your account, and sometimes every account in a household, either temporarily or permanently.

6. Consider volunteering at your local library, school, or Boys & Girls Club to help younger children online. Many schools and nonprofit organizations are in need of people to help set up their computers and Internet capabilities.

7. A friend you meet online may not be the best person to talk to if you are having problems at home, with your friends, or at school - remember the teenage "girl" from New York in Tip number three? First Steps (Comenius Multilateral)

OK, we have agreed to carry out the following steps with the students in order to start the weekly work of the project.

Working schedule (Classroom) - Comenius

1) Create an email account in Hotmail - each student creates an email account

2) the use of the email account - how to send and receive mails

3) how to attach files to emails - images or text

4) the use of MSN - problems with the net and security rules for students

5) beginning of searching information about the country - through Webquests.
we'll give the students first an webquest about geography, then History and
then environment.

6) the webquests are posted in the Travelling Europe Portugal Blog
the other countries have 2 weeks to search and answer the questions by email

7) we check the answers and give points

8) meanwhile the teachers of arts are beginning to plan the little Christmas
presents we'll send to another country. in English class they do Christmas
cards to send along with the presents.
( we need to choose the classes with which to exchange)

9) during all process - every class we'll evaluate the students using a form
for teachers; every class the students evaluate themselves and their work in that session

Travelling Europe comienza su andadura, primero habrá un periodo de formación de alumnos y profes... aprenderemos a usar los e-mail, chats, blogs y lo que es muy importante: a navegar de una forma segura para nosotros y nuestros alumnos en internet.
Además coindice en la misma semana con la fiesta del 12 de Octubre. ¿Qué se celebra en España el 12 de Octubre?
